Tomato rasam

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Chopped Tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • ½ inch chopped ginger
  • 1 pinch of Hing
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup cooked dal
  • 1 tbsp salt as per taste
  • 1 tbsp jaggery water
  • 2 tbsp oil to it.
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 3-4 dry red chilies
  • 1 pinch Hing to it.
  • 4-5 curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Heat a pan on a medium flame.
  • Add 1 cup Chopped Tomatoes
  • Add 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • Add 4-5 curry leaves
  • Then, add 2-3 green chilies
  • Add ½ inch chopped ginger
  • Add 1 pinch of Hing
  • Now add, 1 cup water
  • Add ¼ tbsp turmeric powder
  • Saute well and close the lid.
  • Bring it to boil
  • Smash the tomatoes using the spatula
  • Next, add 1 cup cooked dal and mix.
  • Add 1 tbsp salt as per taste
  • And add 1 tbsp jaggery water and saute.
  • Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now, take a pan and heat it on low flame.
  • Add 2 tbsp oil to it.
  • Add 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • Add 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • Next, add 3-4 dry red chilies
  • Add 1 pinch Hing to it.
  • Next, add 4-5 curry leaves and toss them.
  • Finally, add this tadka to the rasam.
  • Finally, squeeze the halt lemon into the rasam and give a good mix.
  • Now the tasty Tomato lemon rasam is ready to savor.
