I learned this recipe from her. In this recipe, the completely boiled yellow peas and added to the traditional Indian masala tadka and given a good mix. The peas absorb the flavors of masala and are mouth-smacking.

Recipes for yellow peas curry
Ingredients
- 2 cups yellow peas
- 2 cups of water
- ¼ tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Oil
- ½ tbsp Mustard seeds
- ½ tbsp Cumin seeds
- 3-4 Curry leaves
- 1 cup chopped Onion
- 1 cup of tomato
- 1 tbsp Curry Powder
- 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- ½ tbsp Garam Masala
- 1 handful of Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Add 2 cups Yellow peas into a pressure cooker
- Add 2 cups of water
- Next, add ¼ tbsp Turmeric powder
- Add 1 tbsp Salt
- Close the lid and pressure cook until 3-4 whistles.
- In a pan, add 2 tbsp Oil
- Add ½ tbsp Mustard seeds
- Add ½ tbsp Cumin seeds
- Next, add 3-4 Curry leaves and let them splatter
- Then, add 1 cup chopped Onion and saute.
- Add 1 cup to tomato and saute
- Now, add 1 tbsp Curry Powder
- Add 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- And add ½ tbsp Garam Masala
- Mix well
- Now add cooked yellow peas and mix everything well

Notes
Add the dried peas into a pressure cooker and add double of water. Add 1 tbsp of salt and close the lid. Cook for 4-5 whistles for peas to be completely cooked. Do you need to soak yellow peas?
Soaking is optional. Soaking of Peas helps in faster cooking. You can also cook them directly without soaking. How long should you soak peas for cooking?
Soak the yellow peas for a minimum of 7-8 hours before cooking.
