Recipe for Masala Puri
Masala puri is the most loved and well-known chaats of all ages. Probably there can be no one, who doesn’t love it. My friends and I used to love to savor the yummy masala puri from the very famous chaatwala from our town. The mushy potatoes and peas with the juicy sweet chutney and mint chutneys would satisfy all our taste buds. Masala puri is just nostalgic. It sure will take you back to your memorable college days. My husband also loves to savor masala puri with me. I prepare it at home and it heavenly tastes like the one from the streetside chaat stall. It takes minimum effort to prepare it. In today’s blog, I am so excited to share the recipe for Masala puri at home.

Recipe for Masala Puri
Ingredients
- 2 cups of soaked green peas
- 4 Washed Potatoes
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup sliced onion
- 4-5 Garlic cloves
- 4-5 Green chilies
- 1 Handful of Coriander leaves
- 1.5 cup chopped tomatoes
- 3-4 cloves
- 1- star anise
- 1- inch Cinnamon stick
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup water the jar
- 1 spoon Red chili powder optional
- ½ tbsp Garam masala
- ½ tbsp Chat masala
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 cup crushed readymade Papdi
- 4 tbsp Chopped onion
- 4 tbsp chopped tomatoes
- 4 tbsp sev
- 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
Instructions
- Add 2 cups of soaked green peas
- Add 4 Washed Potatoes close the lid and cook for 4 whistles
- Next, in a pan add 2 tbsp Oil
- Add 1 cup sliced onion
- Add 4-5 Garlic cloves and saute.
- Next, add 4-5 Green chilies and saute
- Allow them to cool down
- Now, peel off the skin of cooked potatoes
- Take 2-3 tbsp of cooked Green peas in a jar separately.
- Then mash the cooked green peas and potatoes together in the cooker.
- Next, add all the sauteed ingredients into the jar.
- Add 1 Handful of Coriander leaves
- Add 1.5 tomatoes
- Add 3-4 cloves, 1-star anise, and 1-inch Cinnamon stick
- Grind them into a smooth paste.
- In a pan add 2 tbsp Oil
- Add the grounded masala
- Add 1cup of water to the jar, rinse add the water to the pan, and mix.
- Bring it to boil
- Next, add 1 spoon Red chili powder(optional), ½ tbsp Garam masala, and ½ tbsp Chat masala, and mix everything well
- Bring to boil and add the mashed potato and green peas
- And add 1 tbsp salt. Give one last mix.
- Now, in a plate add crushed readymade Papdi
- Add the masala over the papdi
- Sprinkle some chopped onion
- Sprinkle some chopped tomatoes
- And add some sev and coriander leaves over it.
- Now the yummy Masala Puri is ready.

Add 4 Washed Potatoes close the lid and cook for 4 whistles
Next, in a pan add 2 tbsp Oil
Add 1 cup sliced onion
Add 4-5 Garlic cloves and 4-5 Green chilies and saute
Allow them to cool down
Now, peel off the skin of cooked potatoes
Take 2-3 tbsp of cooked Green peas in a jar separately.
Then mash the cooked green peas and potatoes together in the cooker.
Next, add all the sauteed ingredients into the jar.

Add 1.5 tomatoes, 3-4 cloves, 1-star anise, and 1-inch Cinnamon stick
Grind them into a smooth paste.
In a pan add 2 tbsp Oil
Add the grounded masala and saute
Add 1cup of water to the jar, rinse add the water to the pan, and mix.
Bring it to boil.
Next, add 1 spoon Red chili powder(optional), ½ tbsp Garam masala, and ½ tbsp Chat masala, and mix everything well

And add 1 tbsp salt. Give one last mix.
Now, in a plate add crushed readymade Papdi and add the masala over the papdi

And add some sev and coriander leaves over it.
Now the yummy Masala Puri is ready.
