How to make a pav bhaji
If you ask me ‘what is the one food that I love to savor during my visit to Mumbai?’, My first answer would be Pav bhaji… Pav Bhaji is one of my most favorite Maharashtrian food. Maharashtra is very famous for its unique Pav Bhaji. It is savored as breakfast as well as snacks in Many regions of India.
In today’s blog, I will explain How to make a Pav Bhaji at home in simple steps. My daughter loves to eat Pav Bhaji, specially prepared by me. You also try this recipe, Your children, as well as your loved ones, will totally fall in love with it.

How to Make Pav Bhaji
Equipment
- Pressure cooker
- Tawa
- Mixer Grinder
- Pan
Ingredients
- 2 cups Soaked Green peas
- 3 Medium Potatoes
- ½ cup Onion
- 1 Cup Cabbage
- ¼ cup Capsicum
- ½ cup Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 Mug Water
- 2 tbsp Pav Bhaji Masala
- 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- ½ tbsp Garam masala
- 1 Small cube Butter
- 1 tbsp Oil
- ¼ Cup Coriander leaves
- 2 Pavs As per requirement
Instructions
- Take a pressure cooker and add 2 small cups of Soaked Green peas
- Add 3 medium size Potatoes cut into Half
- Now, add ½ tbsp Salt and 1 tbsp oil
- Finally, close the lid and wait for 4 whistles, and then turn off the gas.
- Take a pan and add a tbsp Butter and 1 tbsp oil.
- Add ½ cup chopped onions and saute well till the onions change color.
- Next, add 1 cup Chopped Cabbage and saute well
- Add ¼ cup of Capsicum and saute well.
- Once everything is roasted well, Add ½ cup chopped tomato and mix well until they become soft.
- Now, Add 2 tbsp Pav bhaji masala
- Add 1 tbsp red chili powder and ½ tbsp Garam masala
- Mix all the masala well.
- After that, Check the cooked Potatoes and green peas.
- Take one small pea and smash it and check if peas are cooked well.
- Collect the excess water into a bowl for later use.
- Separate the potatoes and peel off the skin.
- Next, smash Both Potatoes and Green peas together using a smasher.
- Now, add the smashed Mixture into the Masala of Bhaji.
- Mix everything well.
- After that add separated water into the mixture and give a good mix.
- Close the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes open the lid and give a mix.
- Lastly, add coriander leaves and mix.
- Now, The Bhaji is ready.
- Heat a Tawa/ Pan and add tbsp Butter and spread it.
- Cut the Pav into Half (Do not cut fully)
- Place the Cut pav onto the Tawa and let it roast.
- Once it is well roasted on one side, Flip the pav and roast on another side.
- When Pav is well roasted on both sides take it out and add to the serving plate.
- Finally, Both Pav And Bhaji are ready to serve hot.
- Take a serving plate and add Bhaji as per the requirement. Serve the Bhaji with Hot Pavs, chopped onions, Sev, and a ¼ piece of lemon.
- Squeeze the lemon on Bhaji and enjoy the Pav bhaji with your loved ones.

Step 1
