In today’s blog, I will share the recipe for Sabbasige Molake Kalu Palya. In North Karnataka, we have so many recipes that include a combination of Green leaves and sprouts. As a kid, I always loved eating sprouts for snacks. My mom used to keep sprouts ready at home all day. She used to cook some yummy Curry using a combination of Green leaves and sprouts. Among them, Sabbasige Molake Kalu playa is my favorite. I love the flavourful bite of this curry with jowar roti. Even now, I frequently prepare this dish at home because my husband loves it too. So, without any delay let’s jump into the recipe.

Ingredients
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
2 tbsp chopped Green chillies
1 small Onion chopped into pieces
2 tbsp Coriander leaves
1 bunch of chopped dil leaves
1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp Salt (as per taste)
200 grams of Green gram sprouts
2 tbsp Niger seeds
Instructions with Images
In a pan add 2 tbsp oil and heat it
Add 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
Add 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds and let them splatter
Now, add 2 tbsp chopped Green chilies
Add 1 small Onion chopped into pieces and saute.
Add 2 tbsp Coriander leaves and saute
After that add 1 bunch of chopped dil leaves
Mix everything well
Now, add 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
Add 1/2 tbsp Salt (as per taste) and mix everything well
After that, add 200 grams of Green gram sprouts or any sprouts of your choice.
Mix everything well
Add 2 tbsp Niger seeds and mix well
Lastly, add a little water and mix everything well
Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Now, your tasty and healthy Sabbasige Molake kalu palya is ready.
