In today’s blog, I will share the recipe for Gidda Sauthekayi palya, or short cucumber curry. In North Karnataka, various unique vegetables are grown and consumed within the region. Various cucumbers are available on the market. Gidda southekayi is one such variety and is most loved in the north Karnataka region. Now, without any delay, let’s jump into the recipe of Gidda Sauthekayi palya.

Ingredients
7-8 small Cucumbers
Small Cucumbers
1/2 cup of Onion Paste
1 tablespoon of Chili Paste
2 tbsp Nigerseeds powder
3 to 4 tbsp Tamarind pulp
1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
1/4 tbsp Garam Masala
1/2 tbsp Salt (as per taste)
2 to 3 tbsp Oil
1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
6 to 8 curry leaves
Instructions with Images
Wash 7-8 small Cucumbers
Partially cut the cucumbers into 4 pieces
Add 1/2 cup of Onion Paste
Add 1 tbsp Green Chili Paste
Next add 2 tbsp Nigerseeds powder
Add 3 to 4 tbsp Tamarind pulp
Add 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
After that add 1/4 tbsp Garam Masala
Add 1/2 tbsp Salt (as per taste)
Mix everything well and now the stuffing is ready
Fill the stuffing into the Cucumber pieces
Add 2 to 3 tbsp Oil
Add 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds and let them splatter
Now, add the stuffed Cucumbers to it
And add leftover stuffing
Mix everything well
Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes on low flame
Open the lid and mix everything well
After that add 6 to 8 curry leaves and saute
Close the lid and cook for 5 more minutes
Now the Gidda Sauthekayi palya is ready.
