Onion pakora/Kandha bajji
Are you hankering for easy and quick evening snacks? If yes, Today I am going to your savior. In today’s blog, I am going to share the recipe for Onion Pakoda / Kandha bajji. Onion pakoda is one of the most famous and most loved snacks in India. The crispy onions with a very little sweet flavor are mouth-smacking. Kanda bajji is very famous in the northern part of Karnataka. It is been sold at the nook and corner of all busy streets in North Karnataka. Some people’s evening tea is incomplete without Kandha bajji. It takes very little time to prepare them. It is one of the easiest of all recipes for pakodas.

Onion pakoda / Kandha bajji
Ingredients
- 1 cup sliced Onion
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Red Chili powder
- ¼ tbsp Garam Masala
- ½ tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 Handful of Coriander leaves
- 1 cup of Besan flour
- 2 tbsp Rice flour
- 1 pinch of Baking soda
Instructions
- Take a mixing bowl and add 1 cup sliced Onion
- Add 1 tbsp Salt and mix.
- Add 2 tbsp Red Chili powder
- Next, add ¼ tbsp Garam Masala
- Add ½ tbsp Turmeric powder
- Add 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- Then, add 1 Handful of Coriander leaves
- Add 1 cup of Besan flour
- Add 2 tbsp Rice flour
- Mix everything well using your hands without adding water
- Add 1 pinch of Baking soda
- Mix well into a pakoda batter. Add some water only if needed.
- Keep the oil for heating. Do a sample test, to check if the oil is ready for frying.
- Add small balls of pakoda batter into the oil and fry until golden brown.
- Once the pakoras turn golden brown, take them out of the oil
- Now the Crispy Onion Pakoda is ready to savor.
